Three layers of personalization
Every REFUGE edition starts from the complete text of the Book of Mormon — nothing is abridged or replaced — and layers personalization around it:
- The cover. A name, a subtitle, and a choice of original cover art. Paperback, or hardcover with a linen cover in your choice of color.
- Bound-in pages. Up to 20 of your own uploads printed into the front of the book: family photos, wedding pictures, letters, a mission call, or a patriarchal blessing. They’re part of the binding — not sleeves, not inserts that fall out.
- Notes and markings throughout. After purchase, a guided form lets you place your own notes and highlights at specific verses, printed right in the text — a parent’s testimony next to the verse that taught it, a grandmother’s note in the margin of her favorite chapter.
How the photo and document pages work
In the Book Builder you upload images or PDFs (a scanned patriarchal blessing comes in as a PDF and each page is placed separately). You arrange which uploads share a page and in what order. Low-resolution files are flagged before you buy, so nothing prints blurry. Where do people find their patriarchal blessing? The Church provides a digital copy through its website — the builder links you straight to it.
The proof: see every page before it prints
After checkout we render your actual book — cover, custom pages, highlights, everything — and email a page-by-page digital proof. You approve it or request changes; nothing goes to the printer until you’ve signed off. Buyers consistently call this the moment it gets real: “I received this in the mail and genuinely thought, ‘This is the most thoughtful gift I have ever received.’”
Occasions it was built for
- A mission call — the call letter and family photos bound in front of mission-prep study threads.
- A wedding — vows, wedding photos, and sealing documents opening a couple’s first shared scriptures.
- A personal search for Christ — a baptism, a reconversion, a milestone birthday.
